IC348 (2025)

IC 348 is a young reflection nebula with an embedded star cluster in the constellation Perseus, about 1,250 light years from Earth. The region is threaded with fine interstellar dust that reflects the light of the young, hot stars and gives the nebula its bluish-grey structures. Dark dust clouds cut across the field and mark areas of active star formation that began only a few million years ago. IC 348 thus offers a direct view into an early phase of stellar evolution.
