The Pleiades, also known as M45 or the Seven Sisters, are an open star cluster of more than 1,000 young, hot stars. They lie about 440 light years from Earth and are among the best-known objects in the night sky. The Pleiades are only about 100 million years old and offer insights into the formation and evolution of stars.
