M42 Orion Nebula

The Orion Nebula (M42) is a glowing emission nebula in the constellation Orion, about 1,350 light years from Earth. It contains young, massive stars still forming and shows vivid colours from the excitation of its elements. At its heart lies the “Trapezium”, a group of four bright stars within a stellar nursery. Visible to the naked eye, the Orion Nebula offers a glimpse into the birth of stars.
