NGC 281, also known as the “Pacman Nebula”, is an emission nebula in the constellation Cassiopeia. It lies about 9,500 light years from Earth and spans an area of roughly 48 light years. This fascinating nebula shows vivid colours produced by the excitation of hydrogen gas by young stars.
